I have been playing drums for 46 years, and over 45 of those as a working professional musician. From high school, I went to Wayne State University, playing in several jazz groups there. Upon graduating, I toured Europe with a jazz group and played Montraux Jazz Festival in Montraux Switzerland.
I also lived in Los Angeles for a couple of years. There I was able to work and play with such artists as: Grammy winner, jazz pianist Billy Childs, and Sammy Hagar.
I moved back to Detroit for and to be with family. I have continued to work with many varied bands, every genre from jazz, big band, R&B, Rock, Latin, and Blues. I have spent many hours in the studio recording albums for local artists Waldon Reed, Martin Zaporski, and also sequences for St. Rene Church.
I was also the drummer with “The Contours” until Sylvester Potts had to discontinue because of health reasons. Along with being in “The Contours” band, I have played shows with “The Drifters”, “The Marcels”, “The Reflections”, “Shades of Blue” .
I have also been fortunate to play shows with Las Vegas impersonators-“The Rat Pack”, and Doo Wop artists such as “The Falcons”, “The Impalas”, “The Willows”, “Moonglows” and others.
