Professional Drummer

Adam's love for drumming started with taking his cousins' drum set home after a family gathering at the age of 10. After hearing Adam play for numerous hours in just a few days his Aunt realized this would be a good decision to save her ears. In these early years Adam had only taken one drum lesson over the phone. He recalls this person explaining the paradiddle and that was about it. Early tape recordings can hear his enthusiastic nature about this rhythmic instrument. Years went by as he continued to play for his high school marching and stage band. Adam earned high respect from family, teachers and his peer group performing around the state with the stage band at different colleges. These events were called judications and the band earned several high grades that posted in the school newsletters. In the former years he also studied the guitar, keyboard and piano along with taking various music theory classes. It was at this time throughout his teenage years Adam began a very intensive study into the heart of drumming. Always experimenting with different cymbals, drums, configurations, he became a disciple of players such as the legendary Carmine Appice (Rod Stewart, Jeff Beck), John Bonham (Led Zepplin), Bill Ward (Black Sabbath) Dennis Chambers (Santana), Mickey Hart (Grateful Dead), Ian Pace (Deep Purple), Terry Bozzio (Frank Zappa), Elvin Jones, Buddy Rich and literally to many to name in one sitting. It was not unusual for Adam to practice for 5 or 6 hours after school and sometimes even during school! This opened the doors to many semi professional bands that played in local clubs and for private parties on the weekends. To this day it is evident that the early years of hard work and experience has given Adam a solid rhythmic background. In his early twenties still playing with local bands and keeping foot in the local Baltimore music scene you could always and still can count on hearing a solo from Adam. Blending many different styles and a knack for showmanship Adam tends to play straight from the heart and this unmistakably creates a special bond between him and the audience. After many years in the drafting stage Adam with the help of a local drum manufacture built what is known as one of the worlds most high tech and symmetrical drum sets to fit only in a 40 sq. ft area. (As seen on tour with "After Forever" in 2003) and ("Live at Orion" Concept Video 2001) Currently Adam is not only still taking lessons but also giving them. He participates in community drum circles and is active with the Baltimore/Washington and International Rhythmical Drumming Society. Always seeking to gain knowledge about both hand and kit drumming and share this with his extended family and community. Adam is still active in his solo career in which he calls himself simply..... "American Visionary Drum Set Artist". Ask Adam how he feels about his achievements thus far and you're likely to hear the word "fortunate". Adam is proud of his work to date and enjoys being part of drum circles with local musicians such as Jaqui Macmillan (Independent artist and teacher) and Jonathan Murray (Fun Drum Rhythm Circles).
