Band to Join.ABOUT
Hand percussionist, 30+ years experience. I have done tons of studio work as well as played live in many venues, from small bars and clubs to large festivals. Professional attitude and equipment. Mature, dependable, serious about giving 110%, yet high energy and youthful presence. I know and can play in most styles, but most of my experience is with R&B, funk, soul, reggae, world music, Latin, African, folk, acoustic trios and quartets, classic rock, etc. Great fan of music in general, constantly learning and evolving, want to be part of a serious, professional outfit. I like to play with other musicians who will push me to the next level. Flexible work schedule, available for practices and gigs, able to tour with the right opportunity, but I would be happy with a group which plays out a couple of times a week.

Influences
I have hundreds of LPs, CDs, 45s and cassettes in my collection, spanning music from the 1920's to today, so I am familiar with a lot of groups and styles from around the world. First main influence was the Jackson 5 from when I was about 12 years old, then Santana when I got the album "Abraxas" when I was 15 years old. Been playing since then, throughout grade school, middle school and high school (trombone, baritone horn and tuba, but I dont play those now), picked up conga when I was 18 (35 years ago). Eclectic tastes but I have a broad knowledge of music. Anything with a good rhythm is cool with me. I basically listen and practice to classic rock, soul, r&b, old school punk and funk, uptempo folk as well as Afrobeat, Juju, Afro-Cuban, Afro-rock, "World music" in general. Open to playing with any good band.

Genocide in the Rear View Mirror Track number: 1 Year: 2009 Album: Jungle of Cities Genre: Other
Song by Tim Wais. Music by Jungle of Cities. This is the last real band in which I played. I call this "other" because it is sort of electric folk, due to the serious political message, but I dont like easy labels. Anyway, I play bongo and other hand percussion on this track, no drumset is used.
