I was seriously looking to form a band, but it sort of fell apart. I have gigged in the past in a band a few years ago and miss performing. I'm a little jaded right now about forming a band, but I figure it wouldn't hurt to post here anyways. I play the guitar, but I have been classically trained on the violin. As a result of my violin training, I have also played the mandolin and can figure out just about any stringed instrument I get my hands on. I'm influenced from bluegrass to metal and electronica. Old school punk /oi music is one of my major influences, but not the type of band I really want to play in. I'm looking to form / possibly joining a band that isn't afraid to experiment a bit. I guess if I had to pick a "style" or influence then something along the lines of Radiohead / Muse would be a good direction.

I'm looking for a band that is casual at first. I'm not looking to force a band together to start touring. I would rather take time to get creative musicians together to make good original music, with shows thrown in sparingly at first. If the band really starts to form into it's own, then going serious with it is definately a possibility.

Influences:

SRV, Social Distortion, NIN, Nickel Creek, Muse, Radiohead, Bob Marley, Tool, Depeche Mode, The Cure, Bad Brains, Joy Division, The Cramps, Hendrix, RATM, Alison Krauss, Johnny Cash, Smashing Pumpkins, Ramones, and tons other stuff that could fill a book.

Equipment List:

1977 Marshall JMP 50 watt tube head (Pre-Jcm 800 era)
Marshall Jcm 800 4x12 cabinet loaded with 2 vintage 30's and 2 G12T75's.
Laney VC30 30 watt amp (poor man's vox)
Bastardcaster - modded fat strat type of guitar.

Epiphone Les Paul loaded with SD pickups.
