ABOUT

Over the last 15 years, I've played in bands writing originals in various sub-genres of punk and metal. Punk genres such as Street punk, Ska-punk (skunk), Pop punk, Straight up old school, Hardcore and Easycore. Metal genres such as Metalcore, Hardcore metal, Orchestral metal, and Black.

My story is pretty cut n dry. I played in my first band when I was 14 playing drums in a pop/straight up punk band. Dabbled around the punk genres for a few years until my drumming grew too technical for punk. I had no problem cutting off the technicality to continue drumming in punk bands, but I have a personality to continue to grow and broaden my horizons. Around age 18, I started playing between punk and metal bands until I completely transitioned over to metal around age 24 throughout the present.

My experience includes playing over 300 local/regional shows including an east coast tour as well as organized small and large shows. Between my previous bands, I've had 7 cd releases and a few music videos. One of my niches is that I've stepped outside of my drumming role by doing background/foreground aggressive and clean vocals while drumming as well as stepping out as frontman. If I'm playing a show, I like to make sure it's a performanc and not just a live cd on stage.

Currently, I'm just jamming with friends and looking for something committed, whether it's metal or punk. I'm looking to write music, play 1 or 2 shows a month (possibly more), and practice a few hours a week. Most of all, just want to have a good time through it all and keep good communication up for practices, shows, etc.

Influences

This is going to look like a band lineup from Riot Fest around 2012 or Warped Tour 2008 as far as genre mix goes... AFI, As Blood Runs Black, Within the Ruins, Motionless in White, Comeback Kid, Blink 182, I See Stars, Cock Sparrer, Blitz, The Bouncing Souls, Rise Against, The Unseen, A Day To Remember, Four Year Strong, August Burns Red, Gallows, Tool, System of a Down... k that's good for now.

EQUIPMENT

I don't want to get to descriptive with models, shapes, n sizes here... I have 2 Pacific (PDP) drum sets. One maple, one pine. Each is a standard 5 piece with a few extra cymbals, tom add-ons, electric drum pads and kick trigger. My usual setup is hi-hat, snare, kick w/dual pedals, 2 or 3 toms, 3 crash, 1 China, and 1 ride cymbal. For vocals on the kit, I have a Sennheiser wireless headset mic. I also have a small practice PA with a few mics/stands and some other random equipment. Lastly, I have a large area in my basement for writing/band practice and making all kinds of musical mischief.
