I am a groove based drummer that has a background in rudimental percussion and complex music and time-signatures. It's been a few years since i've played regularly but i'm ready to jump back in- and I'm confident I can sit in with anyone with a couple days notice in front of a paying crowd.

I've been playing drums and percussion since I was 10 years old (an obvious direction to go since my family are all musicians and artists; my dad, uncles on both sides, grandfather and eventually sister- all percussionists. My mom, grandma, aunt... all pianists and musicians. My uncle, dad, and grandma are all or have been professional musicians).

After years of exploring: symphonies, jazz ensembles, percussion ensembles, community symphonies etc i moved to Utah in the mid 1990's and began playing in a gigging band: rock, alt, jazz influences. I have to play music. I have to listen to music to let my brain relax and stop creating it's own music unless i'm miles from anything in the wilderness. I'm teaching myself guitar now so I can get the music out of my head (it's going slow).

I am an Art Director for a Utah based outdoor company: graphic design, marketing, hand coding web technologies. I like to run in the hills, love bikes of all types- road, mountain, around town (in another life- I am a respected bike mechanic, certified bike-fitter, former shop owner), I used to climb, looking forward to skiing or snowboarding this winter, and jumping back into paragliding in the next year (how is this all relevant- i'm into being outside...).

I like playing hard, tight punk, funk, and rock; jazz and jazz influenced rock, emotionally intense and inspired acoustic and western music.... basically if you are pouring yourself into your music i am interested. I also believe in making things better- I want to play around town, I want to record music... I believe in marketing and love the challenge of creating buzz. I get along with just about everyone that I can share a beer with.

My kit fluctuates depending on the music i'm playing- from a 3 piece to a 6 piece with plenty of sounds and cymbals.

I play Sabian Cymbals (bright with a tight attack), Pearl Snare, Remo Pinstripe heads (tight, sharp, clean finish- free floater snare), ProMark sticks. My kits ia an original Beatles Grey Pearl kit.
