There's got to be some accomplished nyc based rock musicians who also enjoy "rocking out" to the classics, e.g. bach, beethoven, tchaikovsky, sibelius, grieg, etc. I'm looking for some who might be interested in putting a band together that would play nothing but the classics, or possibly some of our own instrumental compositions.

I won't go into too much detail here, but the band would be similar to ELP, The Invincible Czars, Class X, and other groups that do tasteful but really cool arrangements of classical music. The band could also play new music written by players, or music written by others for the band.

I'm looking for electric violinists (1 or 2) electric guitarists (1 or 2), bassists (1), keyboardists (1), percussionists (1), and a horn player (preferably able to play trumpet, french horn, and trombone). All players should be proficient at reading parts written out in full sheet music, not just tabs. Guitarists should be proficient at creating the full range of timbres possible on an electric guitar.

Players with the ability and experience in arranging and reorchestrating music would be great.

This would be a hobby kind of thing to start out, but I'd love for the group to play paid gigs.
