I am looking for a band who needs a bassist or people to play with just for fun. I'm not super great at playing bass though - I should say that - I'm only mediocre. I've been playing with the same people(s) for over 15 years in different bands. Guess I'm not sure how to find what I'm looking for. I can sing and harmonize pretty well too. I used to read music but it's been a while.
*** UPDATE: I sold my bass and amp. So, you'd need to supply those things. ***
I learned to play by playing along with Op Ivy, Rancid, Avail, and Ska music many years ago. James Jamerson is an influence. As is the guy from Steeleye Span. I like Charlotte and Serge Gainsbourg, Fever Ray, Pulp, Iron Maiden, Roy Orbison, Georges Brassens, Boards of Canada, Richard D James, Elastica, Blur, Bach, Beck, Aram Katchuturian, Chopin, Nina Simone, Sam Cooke, Mario Lanza, Danny Elfman, Angelo Badalamenti, Thin Lizzy, The Funk Brothers, Steeleye Span, The Band, U2, Fugazi, Radiohead, KUSC, KJAZZ, http://www.in5d.com/amazing-singing-plants-phenomenon.html
I have no equipment. Actually, I have a mandolin.
