I have played professionally (touring bands and studio work) for many years. I shifted over to teaching music for about 7 years while going through college.
I have a strong theory background as well as a good ear.
I would like to either build a band from the ground up or join an existing band that plays 6-8 times a month. Open to original or cover material.

Influences:

My styles are pretty diverse and range from blues (Freddie King, Otis Rush, Elmore James) to improvisational rock (Grateful Dead, Allman Brothers, Phish) to conventional rock (Dire Straits, Rolling Stones). Other genres that I have studied in the past are country and bluegrass (Doc Watson, Tony Rice). I am also a big progressive rock fan (old Genesis, Yes, Frank Zappa). I just recently started working on slide guitar as well.
