Joyful Noise, is a small brass ensemble which, originated from Calvary Church of Fruitport, consisting of 2 trombones, 2 trumpets, 1 alto sax, piano, bass, drums, and percussion. We play occasionally for the 8:30am service at Calvary, and about once a month we aim to play at other churches in our community which don't have established music bands or brass available to them. The music is mostly sacred, and varies in style and can be balad, latin, jazz, southern gospel, or funk. The players would need to be comfortable playing advanced first and second trumpet scores. A knowledge of improvisation would be very valuable but not a prerequisite.
