Looking for other musicians in the Los Angeles Area (I'm in Pasadena) who are interested in putting a David Bowie Tribute act/band together.
I'm not interested in how much you look like Bowie or can copy his stage movements. I'm looking strictly for talent, other musicians (male or female) who love the best of Bowie's music - popular, obscure and in-between songs, who care deeply about performing a set of Bowie's songs and "doing them justice." I'm looking for vocalists, other guitarists and bassists, as well as percussionists. I'm interested in performing acoustic as well as electric songs in a band or duo situation. I would even play acoustic guitar while you sing or sing while you play your instrument. I can sing a few Bowie songs and I know the guitar parts for others.
I've been playing guitar and bass for a long time (34+ years). I love to play music with other musicians. I once had a Jimi Hendrix tribute band. I tend to like psychedelic rock in general. I'm also open to new sounds and electronica. I have lots of recorded fragments of musical ideas I'd like to share with other worthy musicians.
I'm looking to jam with other musicians. Ideally, I'd like to meet someone who is like me: Equally liking to play guitar or bass, who can sing at least a little bit.
However, I'm also interested in entering a paid touring or local gigging situation. I'm good at filling-in and learning songs quickly and accurately for a paid gig.
