I am very dedicated to and serious about my music. I began singing in the Church choir at the age of 5. By the age of 12, I had a full understanding of the gift I had been given. However, The Church was the only place that I would share that gift.
In 2001, I decided to try something new. I sat in with a friends band in a nightclub and realized...hey, I like this! Since that time, I have sat in, have been, and continue to be a member of several local bands, in various genres of music, from cover bands, to Gospel, R&B, Jazz, Neo Soul and the Blues. I also perform as a duo with a singing keyboard musician.
I am promoting myself as a solo artist, so I am always looking to meet new musicians and bands to accompany me for whatever style the gig requires.
Influences
Way too many to list...
My main influences are those old school Gospel Divas: Aretha Franklin, Twinkie and the Clark Sisters, Tremaine Hawkins, Shirley Ceasar, and the R&B, Jazz styles of Anita Baker, Chaka Khan and Patti LaBelle.
My most important influences are my parents, who are both Gospel singers (and yes they can both blow!!)
