My name is Erik Chapman, I'm a 19 year old Student. I'm from Adelaide, South Australia, but have lived in the Springfield, Missouri area for a year and a half. I've been playing guitar for 11 years, but am entirely self-taught. I've been singing for 4 years, and have had 2 years of vocal coaching. I've also been a songwriter for about 4 years also. I am studying music at university, and will be taking my first music classes in the Fall of 2008. I am interested in making a band that plays blues influenced rock music. I'm also interested in acoustic blues (a la John Mayer) and southern rock/ acoustic (a la Ryan Adams).

I will be in the Springfield area from May 3rd until around August 5th, 2008, and am interested in getting involved in the music scene and meeting other musicians who are interested in the same genres of music I am.

Eric Clapton, Led Zeppelin, Lenny Kravitz, Blue Cheer, Frank Zappa, Ryan Adams, John Mayer. I am interested in rock and roll. I'm not interested in modern rock or heavily mixed music. I am a fan of old music and would like to produce music that sounds similar to my influences.

Equipment List:

I currently play an Alvarez Acoustic and an Ibanez Talman electric. I am planning on working this summer and earning enough money to buy a Les Paul and a Fender amplifier.
