About

I've been making music since the second grade both with bands and in solo projects. Archie Love Jones is a solo project with aims kind of similar to David Bowie's Ziggy Stardust era. In essence I want to create a personality and a band that are both larger than life, both need to be eccentric and outlandish. I want this band to have the capability to change the energy of a room the second we start playing.

Influences

My musical stylistics are currently centered around electro-pop, indie-dance(like neon indian) and underground hip-hop (chiefly flying lotus:one of my biggest influences). Though I have a set of songs members are definitely encouraged to bring thier own to the table. I have a background of studying and learning jazz like Mccoy Tyner; Herbie Hancock,R&B like Marvin Gaye; the Tempations; the Vandells and neo R&B like Muhsinah Erica Badu and Georgia Anne Muldrow. I also loove Minimalism and composers like Steve Reich, Philip Glass and Terry Riley. I love world music, I love Fela Kuti and Afro Beat. I love Brazillian Samba and Tropicalia and the great Brazillian Composer Antonio Carlos Jobim. I love African Hi-life. I love the sitar. I also love the Buzzcock's, James Chance, the new-york no wave scene and early 60's garage frat proto-punk.

Members Of Band

You have me Archie, and I play keys and sing, occasionally a little rhythm guitar but mainly vox and aura.
Then you have Bat aka Betty Rocker who will play the gorgeous Up-Right Bass and the baritone guitar when needed.
Then you have mr.Samuel Kellerman the human metronome, who is an excellent drummer and current student of the USC jazz drums program.
