In the rock vein there is the stuff I grew up with in the 1980's, including Concrete Blonde, Kim Carnes, the Clash, the Police, the Cars, the Stray Cats, Men at Work, Huey Lewis, Billy Joel, as well as bands like The Tragically Hip, the Stones, etc..
My acoustic taste leans toward Celtic folk rock and heavy lyrics a la Leonard Cohen.
