ABOUT

Retired living in Portland Metro area. Started playing Viola at age 9, switched to Guitar at age 12. First guitar lessons at age 12 with Denny at Day Music. First guitar was a used 1962 Hagstrom Viking that cost me $65 at Day Music on SE Foster Road. First amp was a used 1962 tube Vox Cambridge Reverb that cost me $20 at H & B Loan. Been singing since grade school choir. First influences were British Blues. Then went to roots with BB & Albert Kings, Otis Rush, etc. After playing Blues and Classic Rock for decades, my interest went to Outlaw and old school Country. Specifically Waylon/Outlaws and Bakersfield (Buck Owens/Buckaroos, Merle Haggard/Shadows). I play a mix of Rhythm/Lead Guitar and Sing. Typical songs: Mama Tried, St James Infirmary, Nowhere Road, Spoonful, Lost Highway, T for Texas, Pride of Man, House of The Rising Sun, Somebody to Love, Honky Tonk Heros, XMAS Carols, and a couple hundred more.
I believe that there is a local market for this music, which is "Family Friendly", and also appeals to the Baby Boomers - of which there are now MANY. Looking to form a SMALL combo; another Guitar, maybe a Cajon for percussion, Stand Up or Electric Bass, Fiddle and/or Harmonica. Less can be better, so two or a max of three would be cool. Aside from a desire to share my music, I believe that there are a few dollars to be made!
