I moved to San Diego about 4 years ago, started a family, and pretty much stopped playing music with any other people, aside from a couple of jam sessions. I am very eager to play again, so that's why I'm placing this ad. I am 36 years old and I started playing guitar and drums both around the age of 10 or 11. In high school I played in 2 bands, one was doing covers on drums of typical hair band stuff that was big at the time, and the other was playing guitar in a punk band. After high school I continued playing mostly drums from several punk bands, then I moved on to Rockabilly by my mid 20's. From 2002-2006 I was in a touring Rockabilly band, playing drums all over the country. In 2006 I joined another touring band that was more of a New Wave influenced rock band, recorded a couple of cd's, got in some magazines, then split. During all those years of playing drums for bands, I basically played guitar at home just to keep from losing it. My knowledge/skills on guitar are basically in the realm of Traditional Country(Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings), Some bluegrass(banks of the ohio, wildwood flower), and punk rock(Social Distortion type stuff). I enjoy playing guitar and drums both, so there really is no preference.. it just depends on the style of music.
