Brief History On Autery Weekes
I began operating my own audio recording studio in2004, however, started Disk Jockeying and setting up live sound systems in 1995 at my old high school(Clara Barton), Flatbush YMCA functions, and any special live events in my community.

In addition, I operate my own internet webserver and website (://.auteryweekes), whereby, I broadcast audio streams of completed various live or studio projects.

Here is a list of my duties before I begin a recording session.
1. I decide on what type of microphone will give me the best quality of sound and where should I place it.
2. I Set up and arrange hardware/ gear/ instruments for proper recording or live broadcast.
3. I test the acoustics of the performance area to make sure we get the best quality available.
4. I troubleshoot and anticipate any problems with audio signals.
As a blind producer I had it hard operating Autery Weekes production. I used any external recording hardware to record artists, musicians and produce my own audio productions. However, still felt trapped because of the limitations. In 2011 I upgraded to a 27 inches IMac with the Digidesign 003 audio interface/controller (factory bundle with Pro Tool 8 professional recording software) thinking my life would become much easier. It got worst, because these applications are not screen reader friendly. All was not at a lost.

After many research and ending up at dead ends, I asked my friends at Freedom Scientific to refer me to any accessible recording and music production software company that is compatible with a blind Jaws user. I was referred to Dancing Dots.

Thanks to Freedom Scientific and Dancing Dots and their accessible technologies you and I, who faces visual challenges could truly become a professional audio engineer or producer who is not limited when it comes to clarity and quality. Currently, through Jaws (the talking software) from Freedom Scientific and CakeTalk (software that makes Cakewalk SONAR Talk) from Dancing Dots allows me to use Sonar producer audio recording and music production software and external audio interface(s) to record, mix down and master multi track audio and midi compositions into mastered stereo or surround sounds.
