Since December 1995, Curtis Smith better known as B Dot has been a child of hip-hop. First involving himself with high school dance teams as well as participating in talent shows throughout the city of Worcester, MA. Born in the heart of New York City, Harlem USA, B Dot moved to Massachusetts with his Mother at an early age, more so to be given an opportunity for greatness. In 1997, B Dot teamed with Lil' Klep and Figure Of Speech to form the trio 180. As a group, 180 took the state of Massachusetts by storm, performing in Boston, Fitchburg, Bellingham, Conneticut, Providence and Springfield, Ma to name a few. 180's first live performance was held in The Worcester Palladium in front of 1500 fans who received the group well. Never once having proper management, the group was forced to conduct self-promotion, however through mutual acquaintances the trio reached New York, Philidelphia and Atlanta audiances. In 1998, 180 was the opening act for The T.W.I.S.M Family Concert held in The Worcester Palladium. Other opening perfomances include Wu Tang Clan, Vita, Fabolous and Ludacris. With countless performances and recordings under his belt, it was agreed upon by all three members that an individual effort could be benificial for all parties involved. In 2004, 180 released The Flight 180 (Final Destination) Mix-Tape which was the first effort distributed under B Dot Productions including a CD-Rom containing three videos all produced by B Dot. The mix-tape did well in New York and extremely well in Worcester. The next effort was a solo project from B Dot entitled Beastmaster Unleashed Vol. 1. The Mix-Tape which was released in Febuary 2005 and to date has sold more than 950 units in Worcester alone. The CD release party for the Beastmaster Unleashed Mix-Tape attracted over 300 plus people to Club Bravo in Worcester and received great revues in the local Massachusetts Pulse Magazine. B Dot went on to release Beastmaster Unleashed Vol. 2. March 25, 2006. along with collaborations with other local artist and albums.
