ABOUT

Freelance bassist looking for different projects ranging from studio work to fun.

I'm a very active but laid back guy willing to play any and all kinds of of music. I play old school traditional "in the pocket" rhythm playing, to intricate and endless Jazz improvisation, to ambient experimental, to fast and crazy fuzz driven bass solos; I do it all! I'm looking to play with as many groups/projects as possible; but if I find a good fit I'll stick with it...

Message me on here or ECC628 . com if interested...

Influences

ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING!!! Seriously, I pick up influences from all music, but if I had to narrow it down I do love some good old Rock, Jazz, Metal (not the cheesy, death, doom, whatever stuff) R&B, and Classical here and there...

Bassists: Top 3: JACO!!!, Cliff Burton, Marcus Miller.

Followed by Geddy Lee, Steve Harris, James Jamerson, Richard Bona, Paul Goddard, Geezer Butler, Victor Wooten, Lemmy(who doesn't love this guy?), Billy Sheehan, Justin Chancellor, Paul Chambers, Frank Bello, Stanley Clarke, David Ellefson, Billy Gould and many, many more.

Guitarists: Jimi Hendrix, Omar Rodriguez, Django Reinhardt, Randy Rhoads, Brian May, Charlie Byrd, Captain Kirk (The Roots), Robert Johnson (The guitar boss), John Frusciante, Paco de Lucia, and a bit of Yngwie.

Other: Piano: Sergei Rachmaninoff, Frederic Chopin, and I would be a little crazy not to list Beethoven and Bach.

Trumpet: Freddie Hubbard (I know, a bassist who lists a trumpet as an influence, right?)

Bands/Groups: Way too many to name....

EQUIPMENT

I'm a gear addict, and proud of it... Here's the main stuff I bang around on though...

Basses: MusicMan Stingray(s), Fender Jazz, Laguna TB70.

Amps: Peavey VB-2 and Hartke 7000 bass heads, Mesa Powerhouse 1000 cabinet, Ampeg BSE410HLF cabinet, 120 Watt practice combo.

Effects: WAY too many and constantly changing... I can rival any guitarist's pedalboard now, haha.
