In high school played with a band the "Stax Of Gold" from Jacksonville NC for a little while, they went on to be "Nantucket", and "Nantucket Sleighride", Tommy Red guitarist helped me a lot, got out of that group played with "Aesop's Fables" mainly beach music, I started writing a few songs and went to Nashville in 1990. I appeared on "Nashville Star" and placed 3rd with my song "Maybe I'm A Dreamer", offered by Capital Records to buy song straight with out no royalties did not sell. All my songs are registered with BMI Music, played with "Crossroads" country, rock 4yrs, then "Country Roads" for 9yrs, took off awhile playing now with "Catfish Stew" Beach, Boogie Blues. Influences are George Strait, George Jones, Dwight Yoakam, Eric Clapton, and beach bands the Embers,
Paul "The Swami" Lewis: Saxophones
Swami started out playing in a family band as a child. He played drums and sax. Swami has been a member of many great local horn sections and always spices it up with his special sound.
He finds his inspiration and ideas as a veteran of the New Orleans Jazz Fest scene and a fan of great music everywhere, traveling worldwide he is never far from his horn and any chance to play
Tim "DT" Stutson: Drums and Vocals
Lets see I began playing back in fifth grade, took some lessons, got into band and orchestra, in Jr. high and High school. Played in a few bands or tried to. most of them at that time were just guitar solo's. Played in a band called "South Bound", in Calif. played weddings, apple festival ,camp grounds. The guitar player in that band played with Neil Diamond for three years and is on the live album. I found out about the "Rusty Nail and started going. I met Gary through an ad in ad-pack And Joined "Country Roads", and here I am. My influences are Doug Clifford of CCR, Ringo Star, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. Max Wineberger. DT Also Plays Drums for the "Cape Fear Blues Band and sit in with several other top Wilmington Acts.
Mike "Bubba" McGee: Bass and Vocals
Mike entered the entertainment world as a member of band "Cloak", an early 90's Holiday Inn Circuit band, opening for show bands like The Temptations and Earth Wind and Fire.
Mike Was the Original Bassist for “The Country Roads Band” Which Featured Gary “Catfish” Nowell, “Two Cents Worth” Kelly Williams, “Jam Sandwich’s” Eddie Benton.
Mike also became a member of local favorites "Lonewolf" producing original albums under "Starstruck" Label.
Eddie Benton and Mike started up Jam Sandwich playing Electric Blues in the Local clubs
