About

I'm a 31-year-old grad student at NIU (Dekalb, IL) looking to have fun playing some music on the side. If you can sing, or if you play guitar or drums or something, just drop me a line: hurtstotalktoyou (AT) yahoo (DOT) com. I'd like to do something semi-serious, maybe develop enough material so that we can play some free shows or record demos for friends, or the like. You can hear some of my music here: http://myspace.com/benwallismusic

Influences

Jars of Clay, Above the Golden State, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Franz Ferdinand, Three Days Grace, Radiohead (don't they influence everyone?), Stone Temple Pilots, Alice In Chains, Phish, Propagandhi, Casting Crowns, King's X, Tool, Travis.

Equipment List

I have an electric guitar, acoustic guitar (with pickup) and bass guitar, along with some basic effects to complement them (compression/sustain, flange, tremolo), and an 80-watt practice amp. I've also got a couple of mics and stands and mixers (unfortunately no vocal amp or speakers though). And I've got recording software for my PC and laptop, so that we can lay down some demos if we feel like it.
