ABOUT

I was born in Charlotte, NC, grew up in southern Louisiana, and have lived and gigged in various places in and out of the country. I am in a longstanding, internationally award-winning, experimental rock band called Guns of the Seneca which is based in Louisiana (on all streaming platforms), but we don't get to play very often now that I'm in Arizona and they have other commitments, so I'm looking for a primary project to take up more of my time. I understand there are slim pickings in the Verde Valley, so I am willing to travel to Phoenix for a jam with promising talent.

I am mostly a math & progressive rock drummer, but I enjoy a mix of other styles too, especially fusion styles which are hard to categorize. I've been into experimental lo-fi hip-hop lately. I'm highly creative and prefer to create in a jam-first, structure-second kind of manner. I like to play music that has a good balance of complexity, power, and melancholy -- and music that is simply good for its own sake. Genres I generally do NOT like include: blues, funk, New Orleans jazz, zydeco, southern rock, country, pop, folk, Latin, metal relying on a lot of double kick and anger, any theme/concept music, or anything else that requires the drummer to stay in the pocket and follow.

Let me know if you like what I've posted on my profile and if you think we might have chemistry. I don't have the paid version of this site, so if you don't either, email me at bwfrost(at)outlook(dot)com or DM me on IG at overthoughtandunderstated.

Cheers
