I've been playing music for as long as I can remember. My mom, dad, and step-father were all touring musicians and, later, music teachers. My first instrument was piano but the instrument I fell in love with was the bass. I started bass when I was nine, followed by guitar when I was twelve. I was my school's jazz band bassist for sixth, seventh, eighth, eleventh, and twelfth grade, and in my senior year of high school, I was named to the Arizona ABODA All-State Jazz Band for bass.
While in Tucson, AZ, I played with a wide variety of area musicians and look forward to becoming involved in the central Illinois music scene. When it comes to musical preferences, I like it all from Miles Davis to Mars Volta and everything in between. I have played bass, guitar, and even drums in many different bands, with styles ranging from reggae to rock to metal to jam to jazz to funk to prog to country.
I'm game for pretty much anything, as long as it is good. Right now, I'm looking to join a funk, reggae, or jam band project, but I'm wide open to possibilities as long as it's good music. I'm no slouch at my instrument, so I expect to play with other musicians at a high caliber of songwriting and performance.
I'm currently attending the University of Illinois-Springfield full-time and I'm married with two young kids. Although I will contribute as much as I can to any band that I'm in, my bandmates must appreciate or acknowledge my delicate balance between home life and band life.
Long story short, playing music is my passion and I'm looking forward to playing again real soon.
