I write and play in whatever style is appropriate for the song. I always thought it would be fun to be in a band that took unexpected songs and do them in a blues style; like take Talking Heads "Life During Wartime" and do it like SRV. Most of all I play music because I can; it's rewarding and fun, and people enjoy listening and dancing. I'm no virtuoso, but I'm pretty good.

Influences
I've been influenced by everything I've heard in my life; from The Guess Who, Krafwerk, Radiohead and Crack The Sky to Wilco, Dawes, Bruce Cockburn, Joni Mitchell, Bob Marley and Van Morrison. I love good fresh new music, like Vampire Weekend, Givers and Young The Giant. I love jazz - but not smooth jazz so much (although my only BMI check came from a very smooth-jazz sounding song). I love reggae, ska, and progressive rock. If it's good, I like it.
EQUIPMENT
Too many guitars to list, Ibanez to PRS. Ampeg and Alesis amps, Roland Juno-G keyboard. I also use the Zoom G3 live and I have a beloved Hafler T-3 3-channel tube preamp that I almost never get to use. I record in Cakewalk Sonar with Ensoniq's Paris interface. Other gear is Behringer, Mackie, Rode and Yamaha.
