ABOUT

In his 25+ years of playing and performing, Russ has teamed up with bands such as: Vendetta (Classic Rock), Annihilation (Metal/Hard Rock), Tantrum (Classic Rock/Metal/Variety), Southern Exposure (Southern Rock/Country), Faded Youth (Alternative Rock/Pop), ODin Phoenix (Original Rock/Pop), Greg Michaels Band (Country/Southern Rock) Payton Taylor (Original Country Nashville Artist) and Dallas (Original Country Nashville Artist). Russ' playing style is a complex reflection of all those project experiences. His kinetic and dynamic grooves and his solid as a rock? timing drive and anchor the sound of any rhythm section he performs with and recording he tracks on.

Back in 2007, Russ packed up his 1987 Honda Accord with his drums, headed home and founded the high energy powerhouse group IRON HORSE, which retired its legacy as the #1 most sought after country rock cover band in the Midwest region. They were signed to the areas largest booking agency, The Music Works, Inc., without ever even hitting the stage. In 4 years the band had grown into a monster and performed over a 100+ shows a year on the area best stages, venues, casinos, festivals and fairs throughout the Midwest region and had gained a sincere and loyal league of die-hard fans.

Russ has always had a deep love of the recording studio. In 2006 he put his skills and best efforts into drum tracking and recording with engineer Colt Leeb (Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots, etc.) and Lance Sabin (Slave Raider), Co-Founder/Co-Owner/Producer at IRP the Institute of Production & Recording at Master Mix Studios in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Other studio sessions, included but limited to, were with studio engineer/producer Zach Lein (2009), studio engineer, Jordan Weyh, and singer/songwriter/producer Bruce McLaughlin (2011) which were both tracked and mastered at McNally-Smith College of Music in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Make sure to check him out and feel free to walk up and introduce yourself. His quick wittedness, charm and sincerity will prove that he is in it for the love of music and the people he networks with. Just give him an idea, product, service or something that you want him to spread the word around for and watch him go. Russ is a real â??Super Heroâ?? in the networking and advertising department and loves to help out and support what he believes in others.
