ABOUT

25 year old Bryan Gatten is a consummate guitarist and professional. Born in St. Paul, Gatten cut his musical teeth in the New York City area, beginning guitar lessons at the age of 6, first performing when he was 7 years old. At 14, he released his first CD, “A Package from Home,” which was dedicated to American troops serving overseas. Over 2,500 copies of the album were sent to the troops, and it received radio airplay in the U.S., Europe and Japan. In 2008, Gatten released “Respectable Boy,” a combination of melodic rock and blues compositions. 2009 saw the release of “Northscapes,” a soundscape using only guitars, inspired by nature in northern climates; the project found particular acclaim with visual artists.

In addition to playing in bands, Gatten has been developing the genre of solo rock guitar. He was determined to be able to plug in anywhere, with just his guitar, and still perform a rock show that would inspire audiences and fans of guitar music. A background of playing in rock trios, as well as formal training in classical and jazz guitar, helped him form the basis of this new music, which aims to be a unique experience. Gatten’s first solo rock guitar performance was in Apple Valley, MN in May 2011. The performances feature Gatten’s original compositions, as well as a healthy dose of improvisation, suited to the room and audience at hand. On special occasions, a choice cover of The Who or Muse could be performed as well (instrumentally). His solo guitar compositions have also been featured in his popular Podcast series on iTunes, titled “Music Mondays.”

Gatten also has experience playing in classic rock bands and instrumental rock trios.
