I love lyrics with unusual perspectives and dry humor that reach deep to reveal human truths a la Richard Thompson, Lyle Lovett, Randy Newman, Greg Brown. Musically, I love artists that pull together varied textures and influences (folk, R&B, blues, rock, celtic, brass) like The Band, Lyle and his Large Band, Paul Simon, Great Big Sea, Punch Brothers, Richard Thompson, Richard Shindell.
