ABOUT

Updated 2/8/2011:

Hi. :-)
I have been singing for about 20 years now, not professionally -- but have done musicals and choral shows as well as concert solos in school. Sounds lame...same old, same old. I know....but I do have a passion for music. This is me:

I love metal music with wailing guitars, and moving solos...
I love strings that make you cry... piano and symphonies that stir your heart and soul.
I love etherial sounds.
Haunting sounds.
Atmospheric sounds.
Natural sounds.
Strong beats that groove... and make your feet dance... or your head bang. ^__^
To me, all instruments coming together in harmony makes for the most beautiful epic sound. That's what I'm looking for. A place where each person does what they do best, and hopefully others enjoy it!

I'm looking for people who want to make a difference with their music, and want to have a good time doing what they love. Life is SHORT. If it's meant to be, It would be awesome if we could take our music on tour. I don't play any instruments, just a little piano (not very well), so that's where you would come in! Everyone has a role to play, and one person is not meant to do everything. I think too many people try to do too many things at the same time. Find what you love, and try to do that one thing well. I focus on what I do best, which is sing.

The last 2 years I have been pursuing opera. I am not an opera singer with an "opera" experience, but I am working to become one. I have some equipment now, and I'm creating a home studio...slowly but surely. I haven't recorded any demos yet, but if you need, I now have the capacity to send you one.
I'm looking for people who are cool with making music that can really impact the listener.
I, personally am not a screamer, although I love growls --I can not do them, nor will I pretend that I can. LOL :) They are bad for vocal cords that wish to stay healthy. I also don't do country. Sorry, country and opera just don't mix well I think.

In one of my current projects, I'm working with a few guys and we're all very talented at what we do. We're not exactly a "band" yet, as we are incomplete-- We are still each independent, and not "bound" to a set band...although we have hope that we will go far soon. We really need a keyboard player and/or violinist to help us build our symphonic sound. Possibly a drummer also.

I would also be up for collaborating with someone to sing/write harmonies for songs if they need background vocals, or if they would like to have a "guest" vocalist on some of their music.
I'm into many genres, and as an additional project I would REALLY love to collaborate on trip hop/ down tempo style or post rock projects, as I've really grown to love a lot of new music this last year and a half. (Thank you, Pandora!)

If you're a fun, down-to-earth, caring person and this sounds like something you'd be interested in starting/sharing, please contact me, thanks!! bsegroves . com

( It would be nice if there wasn't a huge gap in our ages, as I've recently found this can lead to musically creative differences. ...but as long as the overall goal is the same, it doesn't really matter. ^__^)

Thanks for your time. If you've made it this far in my novel, but found that this isn't for you...please pass my info along in case you know someone who may be interested.
