Johnny Allen Edwards ~ Vocals ~ Lead/Rhythm Guitar & Bass
Johnny considers his deep love of music a gift from God, and both his parents
Dorothy and the late John Allen Edwards Sr. Music has always served as the backdrop to his life and some of his earliest memories are of the “House” dance parties his parents hosted on Saturday night in the family small three story tenement in Providence RI.
As a child Johnny would fall asleep to the sounds of Louis Jordan, B.B. King, Lionel Hampton and Nat King Cole just to name a few.
Johnny started to gig around the City at the age of 14 and would sit in with local blues man T.C. Brown also known as “Top Cat” at the
Met Café in Providence. In the later 70’s Johnny went on to play in several local bands eventually landed a professional gig with Ecstasy a Funk & Disco band that played at the Apollo Theatre in New York City.
He would go on to join several Funk Rhythm Soul Reviews to include Double Quality, the Body Snatchers (With Mac Odom former front man for Roomful of Blues), toured on both the U.S and Canadian music scene.
In 1991 Johnny played Lead guitar for Stormin' Norman & the Hurricanes playing Blues and in 1992 hooked up with drummer Keith Pike and Bassist Bob Tiodor and started his own Rhythm & Blues band Electric Blue Flames The group scorched up the scene literally and figuratively. In 1994 the band was featured in several East Coast Blues publications for their performance at the Cape Cod Onset Bay Bluesfest Ma.
After Johnny's on-stage antics of lighting his guitar on fire Boston Blues Society’s Art Simas described the performance: “Monterey Revisited by a guitarist that rips the guts out of his instrument and lays out a song like a cadaver on a cold marble slab” Having been compared to Hendrix all his life Johnny figured why not, so in 1998 went on to form the Jimi Hendrix Experience tribute group Wild Blue Angels, Johnny appeared in Experience Hendrix magazine twice and once in Rolling Stone in 2002 for the show to benefit the survivors and families of the tragic Rhode Island Station night club fire. Johnny still performs the Hendrix Tribute show for festivals and theatres all around the US as well as working with his current band Power Of Soul.
Throughout his career Johnny has performed and shared the stage and has opened for many great artists: Peaches & Herb, Ohio Players, Tavares, Roberta Flack, Roomful of Blues, Johnny “The Texas Twister” Clyde Copeland, The Holmes Brothers, Mighty Sam McClain, Rick Derringer & Buddy Miles Express also Drummer/Vocalist for Hendrix Band of Gypsies. His most recent works include writing composing for live musical performances with New Works / World Traditions at Brown University RI. After a successful run of Dreamscapes from the Famished Road, his most recent work was Melting Into Glass an original movement opera based upon images from Jimi Hendrix' life and poetry.
“Johnny's exceptional musicianship and generosity as a creative collaboration continues to inspire us all towards the development of our new work, Sacrifice of Marrow”

Tim Petit ~ Piano/Organ Vocals
Tim was born and raised in Bristol RI. and took interest in the piano at an early age and has been entertaining audiences for more years then he cares to remember.
Tim’s “Big Musical Adventure” includes traveling to the Mississippi Delta region’s fertile breeding ground for rock 'n' roll and soul music. There he absorbed the great R&B, Blues and Jazz music being played on the "other side of the tracks" listening to artists like Ray Charles and Sam Cooke.
Throughout Tim’s career he has played keyboard with several bands experiencing varying levels success eventually landing himself in Los Angeles. It was during this time that Tim had the opportunity to share the stage with such great performers as; Blood Sweat & Tears, Wilson Pickett, The Young Rascals, Rick Derringer, The Beach Boys, The Animals, The Drifters, The Shirelles and many more.
Tim’s progression to the Hammond B-3 came by way of listening to the Great Jimmy Smith. Tim is a talented player who knows the intricacies of the organ and delivers a potpourri of Blues, R&B, Jazz & Rock with a touch of consonance.
Tim’s overall influences are as diverse as they are many; Little Richard, Jimmy Reed, Lefty Frizzell, Al Hibbler, Sarah Vaughn, Dina Washington, Fats Domino, Otis Spann, Willy Dixon, Professor Longhair – to name just a few.
“Adding Tim to the group completes my desire to fill the pocket with the warm, organic sounds only a Hammond B-3 can deliver” ~ Johnny Edwards
Musical ability and having musicians that have their head together are equally important to me.
