I've been playing guitar for about 30 years now. I have written and performed music for about 25 of those years (42). Played the majority of my gigs in the Pittsburgh area. Played in Hard Rock, Metal, Funk and Blues bands my whole life. Look to assume a gig a position in a band to play some "paid" gigs and have some fun while doing so.
