I am a saxophonist currently working on a graduate degree in Jazz Studies at the University of North Texas. I have a degree in Saxophone Performance from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and I have experience playing all of the saxophones (primarily alto), clarinet, bass clarinet, flute and piccolo.
I am currently fairly busy with school so I am mostly looking for fill-in work or bands that are already established that don't require a large amount of rehearsal time commitment, but I would be open to other projects provided they are well thought-out.

Influences
My main focus is jazz (bebop, swing, big band, fusion, etc.) but I also have experience playing blues, funk, salsa/afro-cuban, rock, rockabilly, folk and classical music. My saxophone influences are very wide but some examples are Charlie Parker, Cannonball Adderley, Kenny Garrett, John Coltrane, Michael Brecker and David Sanborn.
I also listen to a wide variety of music outside of jazz, including such varied artists as The Beatles, Steely Dan, Doobie Brothers, Bob Dylan, The Doors, Pink Floyd, Grateful Dead, Spin Doctors, Michael Jackson, Earth Wind and Fire, Tower of Power, Al Green, Nickel Creek and many more (esp. 70s rock and funk/motown)

Alto Saxophone: Selmer Super Action Series II w/3 different mouthpieces depending on the style of music (Meyer 7M for most jazz/lighter rock, Dukoff 7* for funk/rock/blues and Selmer S90 180 for classical and acoustic music)
