ABOUT

I have recently moved back to Johnstown after being gone for 38 years. I lived in Metro Atlanta and North Ga and played in Ga, Tn NC and SC. I was fortunate work with some incredibly talented musicians and bands. Part of the time I was a "gun for hire" filling in for permanent drummers for one reason or another. My name was kind of known in the region. I would be contacted and sent set lists and show up at the gig, without rehearsals or even knowing the band members. It was a great experience. The bands that I was a member of really put on a show, and entertained.
I believe that the music has to breathe, and that the various instruments have to weave, compliment, and musicians need play off of one and other. This requires thinking out side of the box and improvisation. I am looking for a band or players in need of a solid groove drummer. I view the drums as an accompanying instrument, and my job is to keep the tempo. I am looking to join a band or play with musicians that agree with the above perception. As far as musicians- horns, guitars. harp, keyboard, I am open to any and all. I love the blues and regard it as the genesis of pretty much all American music. However, I am open to other genres Americana, Classic Country, Classic R&R, R&B and original tunes. I am not one to play rote covers or be involved with a tribute situation, or hip hop.
I live in Johnstown but do not have a problem travelling. I can be called or text @404-867-8514.

EQUIPMENT

2 Grestch kits, and soon to be a 3rd one. All of my gear is professional grade. A bunch of different snare drums and vintage Zildgen cymbals. I have a Shure mic system with a 8 channel mixer, that I can use, only of the size of the venue dictates.
