LEAD GUITARIST WANTED FOR A WORKING COUNTRY BAND (Backup-vocal ability a BIG plus)

We are a relatively new and upcoming country band in the area that's looking for a new lead guitarist. We are a combination cover/original group. Our sound stretches over modern country, traditional country, a little rock, a little blues and whatever fits "us". We have many popular, hit covers in our repertoire which get us into venues where covers are needed, but we also have a growing number of originals that we're introducing to the masses at each show. We only starting playing out back in June, but so far we've booked some higher paying gigs, and so far (no bull) all of our gigs have been very well received. We get a few more people signing up for the mailing list each time we play. We work on putting together a show for people to watch and enjoy, not just being background music in a bar. We have fun and we perform, not just jam. Now, we're looking for the lead guitarist that can commit to the same ideals we have and is looking for a long-term, potentially-touring project to be a part of so that we can work toward taking this group to the next mile marker.

About us:
We're a tight group of guys that consider each other good friends as well as bandmates. We rehearse every week (once a week) whether we have a gig coming up or not because we want to constantly get better, because we want to develop our sound and because we enjoy it. We're not afraid to rehearse things over and over as necessary. We're not afraid to go back and change things at any point in the game. That being said, we've gotten to the point where new songs come together very quickly and need less and less work. We do our homework outside of rehearsal and come into rehearsal prepared. We're not afraid to let our imaginations get involved in hopes of finding magic in a song. We like making money with our music, but we're in this because we love the music we make. We're all between the ages of 28 and 36. We joke around, we call each other names, we bullsh*t, we curse and we laugh. We don't drink to excess, we don't go rockstar crazy and lose sight of our objectives, we don't waste anyone's time, we don't have a problem with what religion you are and we don't have a problem with those who are 420 friendly but it stays away from practices and gigs, period. We've got each others back "one for all and all for one" style.

Currently this is a five piece band:
THE DRUMMER: A several year veteran of music and gigging. Toured as a bass player for a while before falling in love with the drums. He understands the rhythm section. He works well with others. He's sings backup and drums at the same time (if ya can believe it... he actually does it pretty well). He's creative, motivated, patient and respectful (which makes him a big step above most drummers out there). He doesn't feel like he's done his job on stage unless he comes off sweating He likes tequila and long walks on the beach.
THE BASS PLAYER: We call him Silent Bob. He doesn't speak much but when he does he makes a whole lotta sense. He's also a several year veteran of the music scene and happens to be a hell of a regular guitar player as well. He also does a great job of recording band rehearsals and making sure everyone has something to practice too. He rattles the speaker screws with solid bass lines at every show. He enjoys a good beer, a good movie and long walks on the beach at sunset.
THE RHYTHM/STEEL PLAYER: Another seasoned musician in the art of rhythm guitar who has recently turned his passion-driven motivation to the steel guitar. Continually getting better at the steel sound and able to cover any rhythm part needed he also is the generous provider of our rehearsal space which happens to be a furniture warehouse (beats the hell outta yo mama's basement). A more dedicated musical soul is hard to find. He jams on stage with a Cash-like charisma. He likes vacationing in the Bahamas, UFC, KFC and long walks on the beach with his dog, Tubbs.
THE FRONTMAN: More infamous than famous, the frontman is a two-time contestant on American idol who surpassed Hollywood week and rose to the Top 40 out of 110,000 contestants before being let go. He is a bass-baritone with some "tenor moments" (think Trace Adkins, Toby Keith, Brooks and Dunn, Big and Rich). So far he's written all of the original music for the band. He's kind of a blowhard and has a bit of an ego, but he's down to earth, courteous and would go to bat for any of his bandmates. Even though the band carries his name, he hopes to further the careers of everyone involved. When it's game time, he rocks the stage and doesn't disappoint. He plays a little bit of rhythm guitar, but that sure as hell isn't why we keep him around. He started this group and everyone's on board because they believe in what he can do. He likes southern comfort, Tarantino films and taking long walks off short piers.

What we're looking for in a lead guitarist:
Someone who is close to our age range (28-36), or at least is at heart. Someone who's all about the creative process and working things again and again 'til we get them right. Someone who's looking to commit to a band for the long run. Someone who believes in what we're doing and who's not overly concerned with money. Ideally, the frontman and the lead player would become close friends and have sessions outside of regular rehearsals where they worked on original tunes together; coming up with licks, solos, patterns and then bringing it to the band. If you're a writer, awesome. Don't expect your material to have an automatic "in" just because you're in the group, but we're all open to any original material if it fits. We're looking for someone who shares our passion and drive for music. Someone who would love to make it big and tour the world if possible, but someone who's also cool with just being a big local success if that's all the fates would allow. In it to win it, has a fairly stable home situation, decent transportation, good gear, a good ear, good backup chops and a love of country, soul and rock 'n' roll.

IF this sounds like you... please contact us asap. Serious inquires only please. Shoot us an e-mail with a little about yourself and why this sounds good to you. If the first impression is good, we'll be in touch very shortly. We know there are no links here for you to hear what we sound like. That's on purpose. We'll be happy to give you tracks to listen to as soon as we strike up a conversation, but we've been through this process before and there are some wackos out there... we're looking to avoid them.

Thanks for reading. Be easy.
