Bio: a closer look

My name is Calesha Esco, I guess you can say that I didn't choose music, music chose me. Even as a little girl I was very creative with making my own songs. I guess you can say when things are meant for you, destiny must take its course.

My dad use to have talent shows when I was younger. It kind of put me in mind of the Jackson 5. Except my mother had 9 kids and all of us in some way, have musical talent. I began to venture out and started entering freestyle battles. I was undefeated and everywhere I went people were amazed by my voice.

Freestyle battles led me to the booth. That’s when the magic began to happen. It wasn’t long after this that my brother, the late Milton Esco, came to me and said "let’s make it happen". That’s when we formed our own record label Milticket Entertainment, which we based out of Atlanta. Later we formed a group called 3G, whose members included: Jaire, Kathy St John, and myself.

My brother felt the girl group would be hot, but don’t get me wrong, we were that, but jealousy destroys any hope of a dream prospering. We did many shows in the Atlanta area; we even had radio interviews in Meridian Mississippi.

Life has turned the tables back to where it once started and I have been many places, and even opened up for a lot of major artists. I’ve done songs with Trackstars, which were produced by Chingy. I’ve even been on the same stage as James Brown, and many other great artists as well. I guess you can say that I am blessed, but things don't happen until its time. During all of this my brother had invested so much money in my dream; I didn’t want to call it quits.

Kathy and I continued to work together as Jaire moved towards her own direction. I’ve lost much during this pursuit of my dreams and I lost my brother in 2006. I lost my fiancée’ in 2007, which was head of Hit Havan Entertainment. I guess you can say I’m a woman with a great push, because their dream is my dream. Dreams don't die but they live through those left to carry the torch.
