The Camilo Project, a Boston based group, started creating music together in 2006. Producer, Jason “Camilo” Margaca and vocalist Mark Foley, began free-styling over raw and unmixed beats. These early freestyle recordings shaped into what would soon become the group's first recorded song "Uptight". At that point, the group knew they had found a style so unique and innovative, that with the addition of vocalist Petrina Foley, they began to record their self-titled debut album in the summer of 2007. The album that was recorded and produced by Jason Margaca and mixed by Sean McLaughlin (Maroon 5, 2Pac & Evanescence) for 37’ Productions was released in October 2008. The Camilo Project fuses together a mixture of hip-hop, rock, and harmonic melodies. Combined with the diverse musical backgrounds of each of its members, the group's style has created a brand new genre in of itself.
