Accepted for voice at a private university by audition at the age of 13, as a Mezzo Soprano and also trained under another instructor as an alto with many years on stage as an alto and a lead soprano with 2 original and 11 copy groups. I soloed at 5. I first went into the studio when I was 15. I have a smooth and alternative sounding bottom range (Annie Lenox) with a versitile head voice that goes from clean and angelic with no falsetto to full on power with no falsetto showing. I have a natural vibrato that comes out in the high hanging notes if I want it to. The vibrato also comes out in my lower range if I don't shut it back...think Stevie Nicks. My mid-range has a natural rasp but not a hoarseness. I have performed with R&B, classic rock, metal and gospel groups and yes, I have done the country tour of oprys.
I have headlined in many of the original and copy venues in Dallas. I do not have a day or a night job, so I can practice anytime and play evenings. I am available to travel.
I am still looking for a band or players forming a band to form a great bond of music. Hopefully originals that are as good as the ones coming out of Boston. See Nemo.com for that. My favorite music to perform is metal/classic rock with great highs and cool stuff with great lows. My voice is very versatile and so am I. I have spent years practicing and performing, mostly in metal bands and mostly Ozzie, Dio, Rush, Zepplin, Nicks, in the covers and very melodic high energy guitar oriented originals. I can also travel to do studio work. However, I have a jones for the stage, so...I need players in Dallas to also work with. Think Velvet Revolver goes slightly toward Steppenwolf with a little Gentle Giant thrown in for sure and you've got what moves me. That's the sound I gravitate towards. Thanks!
Benatar, Plant, Steven Tyler,Stevie Nicks, Annie Wilson, Sammy Hagar,
Dio, Steve Walsh and the ultimate in keeping it pure and pretty...Paul Rogers, Gentle Giant, Ozzie. In guitarist and drummer talk...Benatar (tonal quality), Zepplin (blues quality, lyrics), Aerosmith (blues quality, writing style), Nicks(lower vocal range), Heart(guitar/mandoline arrangements), Hagar(all out party music writing style), Dio (high vocal range), Kansas(arrangements, vocal style), Bad Co./Free(lyrics, music style), Gentle Giant(arrangement style), Ozzie (guitar work)(especially on lead breaks-Randy Rhoads), Velvet Revolver (Lyrical style, guitar work). If you think within these realms, we're a match.
