ABOUT

Title pretty well says it all. Looking to cover danceable classic, alternative and punk with a few interesting tunes to keep the crowd guessing. All musicians must have stage exp. I'm thinking a female singer with guitar experience to handle a fair amount of the songs with another guitar player or players with vocal exp. to handle the rest. This allows us access to more songs, wider audience, gives us variety and rotation. Drummer w/backup vocals a plus. This can be a 4 or 5 pc. band, depending on the depth of the talent. Obviously, 4 pc. gets us into more places with better pay. I am looking for musicians who want to put on a show with musician interaction and creativity. MTV videos really gave faces to bands. To that end I have done quick outfit changes to impersonate different performers. For example ZZ Top Dusty Hill- beard, glasses and hat and(yes I spin my fur covered 5 string bass), Kiss's Gene Simmons - mask w/tongue, wig and chains and (yes my 4 str. bass is rigged for a small flame at the end of the neck - only used at appropriate venues and outdoors). Hopefully I'll have pics. I have more gimmicks, but am hoping for creative musicians to step outside the box and add their own twists. Cheese sells. Dance song interests/suggestions lie in this direction--Violent Femmes , All Am. Rejects, Social Distortion, Green Day, Jet, Kiss, Beastie Boys, Puddle of Mudd, Clash, Alice Cooper, Wheezer, Billy Idol, Ac/Dc, Blur, Ataris, Outcast, Bryan Adams, Rick Springfield(remember cheese sells),Airbourne, Cheap Trick, ZZ Top, The Cars, Blink-182, Poison, Wild Cherry, Jimmy Eat World, Romantics, Aerosmith, Lit, Geo, Thorogood. Some popular, yes Danceable?---Sorry-Buckcherry, Psycho-Puddle of Mudd, Paralyzer-Finger 11, Firewoman-The Cult. Female Bands-----Trying to stay away from Aretha , Janice and the like. Pretender, Joan Jett, Pat Benatar can work. Looking for energetic newer bands. Some are lesser known, but check them out , they rock. Avril Lavigne, B-52's,What we Came Here For by Damone,Watch Me GO -Dollyrots, Take It Off-The Donnas, Bring Me To Life-Evanescense, Pink, Everlife, Fergie?, No Doubt, Hole, Bad Boyfriend-Garbage,Celebrity Skin-Hole, Kelly Clarckson,Go Go's, Ready to Go-Republica,The Difference Between Heaven and Hell-Sahara Hotnights,Broken-Seether/Amy Lee, Steve McQueen-Sheryl Crow, Heaven or Hollywood-Snapdragons OK,I have a serious direction I would like to see the music go(danceable). I'm open to suggestions. Some of these are not high on radio playlists. Listen to them and tell me they won't work if well executed. I've been to clubs and bars where original bands played rocking dance music I Haven't heard before, but the floor was alive either with dancers or those wanting to get a closer look at well executed dance tunes. Don/t you want that? WE All Do! Trust our instincts. Tired of hearing "play some Skynyrd"? I am I'm Looking to play to younger crowds. I Live in Independence,I-77 and I-480, have no place for a band to practice. I Have a good light system and some P A> equip. Would like to learn to do backup vocals. I said I was creative-I built 2 knee high 3' x3' grate covered "stages", outfitted with smoke machines, rotating lights and strobes. Perfect for showing off your stuff, hot dogging and jamming. All foot controlled. For this project---REMEMBER- it's not about nailing note for note solos with feet glued to the floor. That's what juke boxes are for. It's all about the show! Are you up for it?
