ABOUT

I am seeking accomplished guitarist(s), keyboardist(s) and vocalist(s) for collaboration on STUDIO RECORDING of selected cover tunes—perhaps some original material as well.

I AM NOT INTERESTED IN LIVE PERFORMANCE
EXCEPT ON A VERY LIMITED, CHERRY-PICKED BASIS.
I don't need accolades. I don't need money.
I want musical camaraderie and to create recordings that we—the creators of the recordings—enjoy.

While a goodly portion of my previous career involved composing, recording and producing music for radio, TV and video, playing and recording music is now an avid hobby for me and the musicians with whom I collaborate. We get together in my studio on Saturday or Sunday afternoons to play, sing and record just for the helluvit. Instruments, amps, drums/cymbals, mics are always set up and ready to go.

Occasional special-occasion gigs are not out of the question, but gigging is not the purpose of this group.

Current bassist and I are 55+ years of age.
While our influences are wide-ranging and eclectic, our roots are in the classic rock-ish music of the mid-sixties and early seventies...
although we do love a lot of more recent music that has grown out of those musical sensibilities.

MY PERSONAL MUSIC-RELATED HISTORY
* Playing (guitar) and singing since 1966—junior high and high school rock bands and solo acoustic sets.
* Worked my way through college (UT Austin) as guitarist/vocalist in a house band for a local dinner theater.
* Gigged twice a week as a solo acoustic guitar/vocal performer after college for several years while working day gig as a copywriter at various DFW ad agencies.
* Composed/produced music for advertising and video on the side while working as a copywriter in advertising.
* Jammed with a very spontaneous hobby weekend band for several years while working in the advertising industry.
* Composed/produced music for advertising and video for several years as my day gig, working in my own studio as well as various others in Dallas as well as the Left and Right Coasts.
* Retired from Corporate America. Began a second career as a high school teacher (English and journalism).
* Retired from performing live to focus on fun solo studio projects as well as studio projects with my musical sons and close friends.
* Joined an acoustic jam group that meets weekly.
* Decided that low-intensity collaboration and occasional gigging with others might, once again, be a lot of fun.
