Hi. I have been writing songs for about 15 years.I play the guitar and I sing. I play the bass very well also, and used to play bass for a rock band and in jazz band. However, I don't own a bass anymore. I might be willing to play, if somebody has one. I have written a lot of songs, and am trying to do something with them. I am looking for a backup band to help me play/record the songs. Looking at all the people out here, it makes me want to be more open about what my goals are though..seeing so many talented people. I don't have much gear, and don't have much money for gear. I work full time and have a family, so I'm not sure how this is all going to work out..but I want to start trying. Tom Waits, Eels, Johnny Cash, Bjork, Cat Power,Bob Dylan, Emmylou Harris, Tool, Nirvana, Squirrel Nut Zippers, Miles Davis, The Ramones, George Carlin, Louis CK...to name a few..I'm not sure what parts of these artists have really sipped into me musically/whatever...but I know that I have immersed myself in their worlds at different times and there's no way I could have been left unaffected. For example, Tom Waits is probably my favorite performer, but his music is so off the wall...I'm not sure that I've ever written anything so free and off the wall...but I really admire it and love escaping to that world.
