Emerging from Madison, Wisconsin's vibrant music scene, Chris LaBella has been tearing up stages across the midwest and revceiving national airplay along the way. Armed with his trusty guitar, LaBella's mix of hip hop and rock is a refreshing change of pace. Quiet and unassuming, Chris has made a habit of impressing the audience when he steps on stage. Driving rhythms and funky bass lines get the crowd nodding their head while his smooth flow and honest lyrics resonate with their souls. The roaring guitar solos are just icing on the cake. LaBella's live performances are always high energy and the recent addition of backup band The Theftones has only amped up the energy further. Chris has shared the stage with artists such as Prof, Crash Prez, Klassik, Higher Education, Sincere Life, and Lord of the Fly.
LaBella's undeniable talent and versatility have garnered attention from fans and critics alike. His debut EP Flyaway (entirely self-produced) found its way onto the CMJ Top 40 Hip Hop Charts in early 2015. The project reached #13 for two weeks and lasted an impressive 7 weeks in the top 25. In 2014 Chris was awarded Music Video of the Year at the Madison Hip Hop Awards and was nominated for Producer and Engineer of the Year as well. His music has been featured on blogs from Crayon Beats to In Flex We Trust. He is currently hard at work on his 2nd EP.
