I'm a singer songwriter, and im trying to get together a 3 piece to back me up. I play guitar, but I don't really want to play and sing live. My background is in composition, I've been writting music since I was 10 or so. I like the music I write in bands to be really dynamic and generally pretty complex, but I think its important to keep it coming from your gut. I can't stand bands that jump time signatures just for the hell of it, and do it every four secounds. Really brainy bands that thump out notes without any idea of what they really mean also tweak me a little. But, bands like Opeth and Tool that do really interesting sh*t while keeping the emotion alive, are awesome.
In terms of the type of people I'm looking for, there are four things that im really looking for: 1) talent 2) honesty 3) loyalty 4) open-mindedness. From my experience these are the four things that keep bands together or break them up.
