ABOUT

I'm looking for other musicians for a project involving alternative music from the 80s...we also used to call it New Wave. Bands like Duran Duran, Madonna, Simple Minds, Paula Abdul, MJ, etc. Included would be a mix of contemporary artists such as Bruno Mars, Megan Traynor, Pink, etc as well as a good dose of Disco
My goal is to put together a band that is totally focused on getting people on the dance floor and packing bars to capacity.
I'm from the Bangor area and have been in working bands my entire adult life, I'm very experienced...been playing since 1979. I have a full PA and lights, so that's all taken care of.
I want look the part as well, I envision a band who will be wearing period attire from the 80s...funky colors, big hair (whether real or a wig), anything to create the proper illusion.
I've played this area along time and there is a huge void for this type of band...let's face it, as working musicians our goal is to get women on the dance floor, every band I've been in plays the kind of music I'm talking about while we're on break (we play classic and hard rock)and guess what happens...the dance floor fills up, sometimes more than when we're on stage.
Motor Booth gets $3500 for a Fri night and $4500 for a sat night....because they absolutely pack everywhere they play without exception....just saying...with out of control attendance comes leverage to ask for more money which I'm not scared to do at all,...I've managed most of the bands I've been in myself.

I'm looking for other musicians who may be interested in this type of project, who are dedicated and committed to their music and musicianship.
I know all the bar owners having dealt with them for years and am 100% positive I can get gigs and it won't take long for word to get out.
The band "80s Something" was short lived but hugely successful while they were around because of the set list they played, as well as their outfits...same with Motor Booth. I'm looking for kind of a hybrid of the two.
