Our band plays mostly at Yoga centers performing some covers but mostly original music that is a mix of acoustic and rousing (lyrics are often Sanskrit! but don't worry,they are easy to learn)- we have a dumbek/percussion player, two singers, one of whom is the lead and plays acoustic guitar and harmonium. We are looking for an electric (who can sing while playing - bass/baritone or possibly tenor) Upright bass or cello would be great too but not required). We play out 2-4 times a month, split the income, and rehearse Wed nights in Swarthmore.
Who should apply: Anyone who plays electric Bass and sings well, experienced with kirtan or who is open to creating usic that helps folks move into a meditative and at times ecstatic space!
