ABOUT

I am a versatile singer who sings in the styles of R&B/funk/disco, 80s-90s/crossover, jazz, Latin jazz. I also sing traditional Christian hymns, Southern gospel, world music, classical music for creative musical collaboration.

I currently sing in a band "Clam Chowder Project" based in Asheville. I actually live on the South Carolina side of the stateline. I am available for activities in upstate SC as well as NC-Hendersonville-Asheville area.

For my personal project, I am seeking an arranger who can make contemporary arrangement of Christian hymns. I want to sing hymns that are arranged in a "tastefully contemporary" way. Not like those CCM bands that modernize the hymns that sound all the same with the guitar riffs flowing in the back, which is very boring to me although I respect their effort. It can be a mix of R&B, modern classical/theater, jazz, world music, even some Americana feel. But not standard 8-beat CCM band music.

I am an Asian Christian singer with an unlikely voice. I am retired, and music is my hobby and my passion. English is my second language. I am "color blind" meaning that I recognize groove, cool sound, funky beat, but I don't see race in music. I sing my music with a vision, for a purpose, as an artistic outlet. I sing for love and peace for the world. My dream is to make music in a multi-ethnic band that brings music to all peoples and let the world know of the love of God.

My singing experiences: Classical music in Catholic church choir for 6 years, my dance band (R&B/funk/crossover/smooth jazz/crossover), back and lead vocal for jazz standards/smooth jazz/crossover, R&B/funk bands, a Christian musical play in Roanoke in 2012.
