14. Into your eyes - Music and Lyric by me. - Musically and lyrically Pretty ballad of affirmation of love. One of the prettiest ballads I have written. No "bite" to it, so it's a little one-dimensional. Nice hook though.
15. This Little Ryhme - Lyric by me. - Music by Paul Newett. - Songwriter tries to finish a song in the quiet interlude before the world awakes on a Saturday Morning.
16. Song for PeteyPetes - Melody and Lyric by me. Personal favorite about my now deceased cat. Nice little song... probably has no meaning to anyone but me and my family.

18. Perfect Strangers - (best for a female voice) -Lyric by me. Melody by Paul Newett and myself. - A prediction of doom and pain for a relationship that should have never begun.
19. Light a Candle - Lyric by Paul Newett and myself. Music by Paul Newett. - Based on a comment by Tom Dooley who was a modern Day Albert Schweitzer - A haunting challenge to Christians to "light a candle in a very dark place" as Dr. Tom Dooley did in the Communist darkness of 1950s Vietnam.
20. A plan and a Goal - Meldody by Paul Newett. Lyrics added by myself. - A man has a novel plan and goal for coping with being dumped. - Funny, sad, and serious at the same time.
21. You do the Thinking. - Melody and Lyrics by me. - A drinking man suggests a unique division of labor to his domineering and dismissive wife. Funny with an undertone of sad truth.
22. Crossroads. Melody and Lyrics by me. - A man's car breaks down and strands him at a crossroads, where he ponders the pain he has caused his romantic partner and whether to return to her. Cute, but not cutesy. Serious, but humourous. Ultimately triumphant and hopeful without getting sappy.
23. The Virgianian (Lonesome tree) Cover Version - Percy Faith Wrote an instrumental that he called "Lonesome Tree." The 1960s television western "The Virgianian" used if for their theme. I wrote lyrics based on Owen Wister's famous novel "The Virginian." Haunting, fearful, and hopeful at the same time. FIRST song on Samples3.
24. The Virginian (Lonesome Tree) Original Version. My Lyric with Music by Paul Newett. Paul's music is even more haunting than the Percy Faith music. I LOVE Paul's version.
25. Modern Day Love - Melody and Lyric by me. - A man laments lost love and the failure of promises of "til death do us part." SECOND song on Samples3.
26. Think it Through - Melody and Lyric by me. - A biting, satirical, serious look at consequences of ignoring "inconvenient truths." The lyrics are dear to me. . . favorites. I worked so long and hard on the Melody that I can't judge it. I think and hope it's good.
27. OHMIGOD I'm in Love - Lyric by me. Music by Paul Newett. - A person (most likely male) discovers, to his shock and surprise that he has "fallen" in love. His Denial, fear and reluctant acceptance are the song.
28. Once on a Meadow - Lyric and Melody by me. - A person remembers (and is consumed by) a long ago dalliance that ends prematurely with a tragic, non-graphically alluded to death.
29. Whatever's left of His Heart (for a female voice) - Melody and Lyric by me. - A female friend stands up for her divorced, male, friend and asserts that he will survive and move past the betrayal by his ex wife. This song needs something to make it compelling. Not yet sure what it might be.
30. Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. Lyric by me. Music by myself with help from Paul Newett. - Hauntingly pretty, and sad examination of a tragic event built around a child's favorite nursery rhyme. Cynicism and Innocence clash and co-exist.
31. Frightened Heart - Melody and Lyric by me. - Fear and uncertainty in love. Probably a little overserious.
32. I Never Needed You Any Way - Lyrics and Melody by me - Sane, Reasonable response to threats of abandonment by a lover. - An emotionally HEALTHY love song. Worked too hard on the tune to know if it's good.
33. Mile Post 31. - Melody and Lyrics by myself and Paul Newett. - A wistful look back at youth, fame, lost love, and hope.
34. A Song for You (Us)... (Cover) - Peter Cetera had underwhelming success with a very nice little song called "A song for us." It is obscure enough that there is only one version of it available on youtube...and you've probably never heard it. I added lyrics for a female duet partner, and LOVE the song. It's a beautiful tune that I don't understand the initial failure of. The Duet is better. A guaranteed hit for a live cover band.
Ask me about any of these songs. I'll get some primitive audio version short samples up fairly soon.
Elton John, Tommy James, Eric Clapton, Eric Carmen, Sons of the Pioneers, The Kinks, The Beatles, Early BeeGees, Rod Stewart, Badfinger, Night Ranger, Jim Croce, Joan Baez, Sawyer Brown, James Taylor, Jimmy Buffet, Steely Dan, Al Stewart, Peter Cetera, Pete Townesend and too many others to list.
Additionally, I have a very good memory for any song that makes an impression on me. I can suggest covers for songs your audience has never heard before. . . really nice, ballads by established artists of their day that somehow fell through the cracks.
