ABOUT

I am a classically and jazz trained flutist and saxophonist and a classically and pop trained vocalist. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Music from Central CT ST Univ. and also studied at Ithaca College and New England Conservatory. I have sung my whole life and have played flute for 40 yrs, sax for 37 yrs, and clarinet for 34 years. I have played in all styles. I studied voice in the classical style for diction, tone and extention of my range and 1 yr of Pop style lessons with a different vocal teacher to learn to sing using the Speech-level singing tecnique and work on stage presence. During that time I entered many talent and Karaoke competitions to practice these concepts. I also had some lessons on acoustic guitar from Mark Cecchini. I have been the owner of Wedding Instrumentals for 27 yrs and have performed flute with many classically trained musicians. I have had a teaching studio for 27 years as well. I have sung by sitting in with country bands such as Stone Canyon, and Cobblestone Road both out of CT. I performed in a duo called Country Somethin' for 2 yrs singing lead and harmony and played auxiliary percussion. I am currently with the band "Blue Collar Project" owned and manged by Guy Howerton in which I sing lead & harmony, and play flute, sax, auxiliary percussion and acoustic rhythm guitar. I have played jazz flute with NYC's Jamie Baum, and played jazz in a flute and guitar duo with Dave Giardina, and Mark Cecchini. I have performed over the past 26 yrs as a reed doubler (flute, alto flute, piccolo, clarinet, alto and soprano saxes, alto and soprano recorders, and auxiliary percussion) in many pit orchestras such as the Thomaston Opera House, The Warner Theater in Torrington, The Hartford Children's Theater, The CT Repertory
Theater in Storrs, and The Spirit of Broadway Theater in Norwich, CT. I have studio experience in NYC at Uptime Recording Studio recording for the new Musical CD Soundtrack of "Buddy's Tavern" on flute, alto sax, and clarinet, and my own vocal demo CD produced locally by Warren at Rotary Records in West Springfield, MA and Guy Wallis at Performance Music in Westfield. I've written one completed original ready for recording and several others unfinished. In Sept - November 2015 I recorded vocally 4 songs written by Bill Naughton, Jr. of Colbalt, CT. Three of these songs were recorded for his 2 cd set demo which will be sent to producers and artists in Nashville. I can play by ear, improvise and read music. I'm very versatile, flexible, and easy to get along with. I am most looking for a modern country/southern rock (Marshall Tucker), Blues or Contemorary Christian band in which I can sing some lead, background harmony, and play my flute and/ or alto or soprano sax AND/OR sing lead and/or harmony in an Evanescence Tribute Band. Also anyone out there classically trained and in need of a flutist or woodwind player for weddings, cocktail hour, receptions, parties, etc, please call. Anyone who is in need of a folk/jazz flutist/singer for any one-time gigs, please contact me at kcflutist.
