Enjoy playing, but have never found a band to join. I'm adept at picking up songs. I'm not afraid to sing in the background. Because I enjoy playing, I'd like to keep it fun and light in a band.
I enjoy classic rock, country and '80's music more than any other genres. When it comes to arrangements, I'd prefer a group that likes to throw new stuff in over old stuff. Just because you're covering tunes doesn't mean that they all have to sound just like the originals.
Latest songs that I've learned have been "Drunk on You", "Chillin' It", "Beer Money" and "Lettin' the Night Roll"... Starting up on "Whiskey In My Water" next... New country is cool - it's got a lot of rock influence and you get to mess around with solos and cool rock style licks - you really didn't get that chance with classic country, for the most part.
I also have been writing for years and would like to see what a band could do with some original material.
