LOOKING FOR A BAND, OR SOON TO BE BAND. I'm a solid, in the pocket bassist. Played locally for a few years, and then took a few years off. I'm very ready to get back into it, in any capacity. I have no ego problems. I've got very good equipment. Not looking to be a rock star (anymore), and I couldn't care less about the money. I'm in it for the music, the performance, and the fun of it, but it HAS to be good and tight or it's just not worth it.
I was a studio and commercial musician in New York City in the 70's and 80's. Tim Bogert from The Vanilla Fudge taught me to play bass at 14, and I never looked back. In the late 70's I regularly played Max's Kansas City and CBGB's in New York opening for the Talking Heads, Blondie, The Ramones, Devo, etc, and was in a band that was signed to Warner Bros (for about 5 minutes), and Buck Dharma produced a couple of my recordings. In 1980 I was the touring bassist for the band Squeeze for a short time. I will play anything and everything, as long as it's tasty. I can sing backing vocals competently, high harmonies mostly. Not lead vocal quality. I play keyboards as well, but I'd rather stick with bass.
ON THE AUDIO/VIDEO TAB YOU CAN DOWNLOAD SAMPLES OF MY BASS PLAYING. THREE SONGS INCLUDING ONE OF MY ORIGINALS.
Many Many Many. Here are a few in no particular order:
Peter Gabriel, King Crimson, Nirvana, Coldplay, OLD Genesis, Gentle Giant, Radiohead, Depeche Mode, Tony Levin, Creedence, The Beatles, Oingo Boingo, Danny Elfman, Enya, The Who, Pearl Jam, Linkin Park, Led Zepplin, John Wetton, Steely Dan, Squeeze, and of course David Archuletta :-)
Always buying and selling my stuff. Right now I have a Steinberger Bass, Corbin Bass, an acoustic electric bass, and some kind of handmade stand-up thing that I fiddle with sometime. Behringer Amp, and Peavey Amp.
