Very multi-faceted and versatile musician. My favorite styles of music are classic rock, progressive rock, progressive metal, and metal (NWOBHM, some hair metal, and some thrash.)
Other than the styles of music I've listed that I prefer and can play, I also love neoclassical music and instrumentals (Yngwie Malmsteen for example), classical music, RnB (something like Skylark's Wildflower), new wave and pop, and rap/hip hop (although it's not related to my guitar playing.
Some other styles of music that I was forced to play because of my previous band was some melodic metal and that drop-d style of metal. Wasn't a big fan of it, but it shows my willingness to experiment which is a big deal with me. I love variety and sound experimentation and I would love to create music that is layered with different mind boggling fabrics of lucid music.
Manfred Mann's Blinded by the Light, Kansas's Magnum Opus, Steve Miller Band's Fly like an Eagle, and Pink Floyd Echoes are the best exampls that I can think of at the top of my head when I talk about adding layers of music.
Anyways, just wanted to say I'm a guitarist with 6-7 years experience; I know how to shred/sweep pick (moderately), really good lead and soloist, good rhythm and clean phrasing, and love making exotic sounds.
Oh, and one last thing...I know how to fun with a little help from my green friend ;)
